The mirror like a duplicator of the world, the mirror like a conscious image, which is nothing more than an artifact of reality. This is the Jorge Luis Borges’s point of view which is represented by the photographic project named “Del tempo e degli specchi”.
In order to represent this concept Angelo Iodice blocks the chromatic combinations using its camera.
They appear like a totality which is satisfy and stimulant, they are entropically elusive and they are peered through the hole of a kaleidoscope, conversing with the space of the mirror.
The mirrors reproduce the world duplicating it, they normally invert the right and the left; they show an unreal environment that appears like a “space which, even if coincides with a place (or not place) in which whom is reflected is not actually placed, it is however a place connected to all the other spaces that surround it” (cit. Michel Foucault).
We have a separation from the continuum space-time and, past and future become the same thing; we stage the fine balance between what appears to us and its transformation into its Doppelgänger.
Del tempo e degli specchi’s project investigates the “other” creating the doubt into the interlocutor… what it could be found once crossed the threshold…, is a projection towards the indeterminate and the indefinite?
